Vermillion Park boost new Shelter House
Proceeds from the “2006 June Bug Jamboree” and the dollar per bunk fee that Alf’s Custom Fab has paid over the past five years and other park donations.  Alf Engelken drew up the plan and the Vermillion City Council approved the project earlier this spring.  Jim Woolsoncroft donated perlims/rafters and  F & L Construction loaned the equipment used in making this project possible. Jim VanGilder installed the wiring for the shelter house.  Jim VanGilder, Alf Engelken and several other volunteers all donated their labor.  Other possible projects include the purchase of folding picnic tables and installing a grill for the hookup area.  Additional park projects are being considered.

Tractor Pull Held at Vermillion Park  June 26th
The City Council approved the Vermillion City Park fundraiser Tractor Pull that will be held June 26th at 2:00 p.m.

The Renegade Pullers July 30th

The Renegade Pullers  will be held July 30th at 6:00 p.m. Pulled pork dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. and Johnny Johnson & Friends will perform at 9:00 p.m.    For more information on either event or to sponsor a pull call 799-5311 and to donate toward the park fund call 799-4137.

Glen Isaman Celebrates 85th birthday.

A surprise  pot-luck birthday dinner was held at the Vermillion City Park picnic shelter for Glen Isaman in celebration of his 85th birthday on June 11.   The Isaman family and guest surely surprised Glen as he thought he was going to Marysville to the Chinese Resteurant.   Glen’s children are Connie Smith, Judy Meade, Sandy Vernon, Brenda Brunstetter, Marsha Isaman and Mike Isaman.

Vermillion Library News

Four children participated in the Summer Reading Program Tuesday afternoon.  The Story Hour will continue each Tuesday throughout June.
