The Vermillion Library board met December 10, 2008 in the meeting room. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved . The bookkeeper gave a report on the funds, in the regular checking account VPL Kan-Ed account, the Capital Improvement account, and the Manhattan Library account.  All on the following pages.

The librarian gave her report she had received a unacceptable book so it was sent back to Manhattan for them to take care of. Audrey had read to Kinder-Prep, she read I Heard Said The Bird and What Dinosaurs Eat.

We have been weeding more books, some more books have been placed on the shelf , Milton has been cataloging them.

The two grants that were applied for have been denied, one was received too late and the other can be reapplied for.

Many got to visit with Scott Edwards when he was here and signed books , you may visit him on www.scottedwardsimages.com , we have some of his pictures on a flash drive to view. We are still working on the policy manual.

We are going to have a work day January 6 and 7th to do painting in north room and to up date the library system and hope to classify , like books together.  Audrey was to get supplies for this. The storm door is at the lumber yard getting plexi glass installed in the frame.

The SRS representative, Tara Hundly came to our meeting, she explained the access rack and information available and phone numbers for information, or srskansas.org. Tara also updated the rack. Matthew attended a directors meeting, in Audrey’s place, last Friday, and told us of Kan-Ed changes coming up .

It was decided to purchased a used card file from the Waterville Library, Milton will pick it up at his convenience.
