The Vermillion Public Library board met January 14, at 9 am. The meeting was called to order by our President Matthew Ekstrum. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer gave her treasurerâ??s report, we have purchased a bigger used, card file, and paint and supplies for painting the North room, Matthew submitted his bill for ink cartridges, and Milton submitted a bill for the repair of the storm door. These bills were paid.
Several worked on painting, the north room, and reorganizing the books and videoâ??s , in the north room. Audrey plans to have two kinder-prep story hours this month, on January 16 & 30. The NCKL book van was here January 6. The statistics report needs to be in February 13.
Carol Barta, with NCKL, will be here for our February meeting, to discuss responsibilities of the library board.
WE have been approved for the Picturing America grant, for humanities, we will be receiving 14 images to display in the library.
We received a card from Clara Snook, she has finished her book and will be sending a book to the library.
We worked on some corrections to the policy manual which the committee has been working on.
We discussed term dates of board members. The resignation of Dee Polson was regretfully, accepted, as she is unable to attend the meetings. We were glad to have her with us today.
The storm door needs to be installed, it has been repaired.
We discussed the need for new fire extinguishers and possibly smoke alarms.
The genre grouping of books, which is being implemented, was discussed.
Shelving possibilities was discussed, estimates and lumber prices will be looked into, also carpet estimates.
Chari Reynolds came on as a board member after being off 6 months, the election results are as follows,
