Vermillion Public Library Meeting
October 8, 2008

The Library board met October 8 at 9:00 am in the library Matthew called the meeting to order, the Secretary read the minutes of the last meeting, and they were approved as read.
The TreasurerĂ¢??s report was given by Chari. Report on following page.
Audrey gave the Directors report, she had read to Kinder-Prep students September 10th, Karen Zidek helped her, the American library survey has been completed, Karen and Marylyn have been helping her with the processing of some books, which had been donated and they are on the shelves, some books are being weeded, Marsha has been helping her with this, some have been put in the history rooms, Audrey asked for input on books to be purchased, and she has started a program for little kids they can take home some work sheets to be completed for a small prize
Matthew has been working with a patron who wanted information on plat maps. Chari asked about what information to put on the Web page from the newspapers.
Insurance on the building was discussed. Marsha gave a report on progress so far on redoing the library policy manual, Matthew appointed Marsha, Karen, and Marylyn to work on section three, and Matthew, Chari, and Audrey will work on section four.
It was decided to keep a more thorough record of donated items in a book just for this purpose, and offer a receipt.
We discussed some improvements needed in the building, a storm door , and a window that needs repairing, this will be looked into. A thank you was sent to Sharon DeVries for the Flash drives, donated.
The meeting was adjorned for a class on files and storage, given by Richard Miller of NCKL.
