Movie Suggestion and Drawing

Do you have any movies you would like to see added to the collection at the library? Make your suggestions as a comment on this post or on the “Requests and Suggestions” page (over in the left column). If you include your contact information, email or phone, you will be entered into a drawing to win your choice, within reason, of a movie. One entry per suggestion and a maximum five entries into the drawing will be allowed. You can make as many suggestions as you like though. Winner will be selected on September 11.

Proud to be an American

This is the video made on Memorial Day at the Lillis, Vliets, Salem and Vermillion Cemeteries by Jeannie Conard, Richard Gibb’s daughter at the May 30, 2011 Memorial Day services.

Those in the The Vermillion American Legion Post #257 Honor Guard are Richard Gibbs, Kent Stowell, Wendall VanDorn, Steve Argo, George Olson, Jim Harper, Jim Cornelison, Farrell Meritt, Bill Broxterman, Ralph Broxterman, Glen Isaman and Don Jacobson. Virgil Warren of the Vermillion Christian Church gave the memorial service. Some of the wives and families went with the Honor Guard and sang patriotic songs. Landon McClary played Taps at each cemetery. At each cemetery service, there was a speaker, firing squad and reading of names of our departed comrades.

Yes! We’re proud to be an American!
